This segment evaluates general safety concerns for plumbers and OSHA’s role in protecting workers from harm.  

Hazardous substances and environmental risks  

Learn about the hazards and risks that plumbers can encounter including lead, asbestos, mold, industrial chemicals, and mercury.  

Flammable or combustible materials  

Learn about all the substances and materials that are likely to catch fire. Additionally, explore fire protection and prevention standards.  

Workplace hazards  

Learn how to handle health and safety risks that plumbers encounter at a worksite. These include sulfur dioxide and biohazards such as sewage and rodent infestations. The course also examines standards for respirators and respirator use.  

Physical strains  

Learn about stresses and strains often placed on plumbers that can lead to pain and injury. This segment also describes how to reduce the occurrence and severity of injuries on the job.  

Physical hazards
