- Sizing guidelines: Assigning drainage fixture units (DFU), determining system drainage load, calculating horizontal drainage slope via Darcy and Manning's formula and alternative sizing calculations
- Fluid dynamic principles: Piping configuration and system design
- Innovative alternative systems: Sustainable and environmentally responsible practices; modern and non-traditional sanitary drainage systems
- Grease interceptors and effective F.O.G. management: Guidelines for optimal installation, placement and maintenance of devices to control fats, oils and grease
The course equips South Dakota plumbers with the foundational knowledge and practical insights needed to excel in their field. It also emphasizes the importance of SDS in safeguarding public health and preserving the environment.
