How to Get a Maine Plumber License

  1. Meet the minimum experience requirements:
    1. Journeyman:
      1. Minimum of 4,000 hours of work as licensed trainee OR
      2. Minimum of 2,000 hours work as a licensed journeyman-in-training
    2. Master:
      1. Minimum of 2,000 hours of work as a licensed journeyman OR
      2. Minimum of 8,000 hours work as a licensed trainee
  2. Complete and submit an application for examination
  3. Take and pass your exam
  4. Complete and submit an application for licensure along with applicable fees
